Based on ~20 acres treated per 2.5 Gallon Jug (275 Gal Tote Available).

What It Does

NUE MICRO ZN pairs 9.1% zinc and 4.49% sulfur in an amino-acid chelated formulation designed to move zinc efficiently into young plants -- supporting root development, early metabolism, and balanced phosphorus utilization from the first weeks of the season. Zinc supports auxin production and enzyme activity behind root growth, while sulfur fuels carbohydrate metabolism, protein synthesis, and enzyme systems.

Why It Works

Amino acid chelation keeps zinc soluble and plant-available across both soil and foliar application routes, unlike conventional zinc sulfate which can tie up in high pH, high-phosphorus, or cool/wet soils. Zinc and sulfur work together on enzyme function, protein synthesis, and chlorophyll development.

When to Apply

IN-FURROW (row, specialty, and root & tuber crops): apply 16 fl oz/acre at planting to place zinc close to developing roots for early-season availability. EARLY FOLIAR: apply 16 fl oz/acre during early vegetative growth to deliver zinc directly to actively growing plant tissue. Especially well suited for fields where zinc availability may be limited by high soil phosphorus, high pH, cool or wet soils, low organic matter, or a known zinc deficiency.

Application Rate

16 fl oz/acre in-furrow or early foliar

Best Uses

  • Supports early root development via auxin production and enzyme activity
  • Fuels early-season carbohydrate metabolism and protein synthesis
  • Amino acid chelation keeps zinc plant-available across soil and foliar routes
  • Delivers zinc and sulfur together for enzyme function and chlorophyll development

Tank Mixing & Compatibility

Foliar application in a minimum of 10 gal water/acre by ground or 3 gal/acre by air. Tank-mixable with most common crop inputs. Jar test recommended with high-phosphate starter blends due to zinc-phosphate interaction risk.

Technical Information

NUE MICRO ZN uses amino acid chelation to keep zinc soluble and plant-available even in higher pH tank and soil conditions where free zinc ions would otherwise precipitate out. Available in a 2.5 gal (9.46 L) jug or 275 gal (1,041 L) IBC tote; custom packaging options may be available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is NUE MICRO ZN safe to use in-furrow with starter fertilizer?

Yes, NUE MICRO ZN is commonly used in-furrow. A jar test is recommended with high-phosphate starter blends, as zinc can interact with phosphate under certain conditions.
