FUSAMEL Finish
Reacted Specialty Fertilizer -- Finish Formulation
A reacted, low-salt specialty fertilizer platform delivering multiple forms of nitrogen and orthophosphate phosphorus for efficient foliar or in-furrow nutrient delivery.
How Many Acres Do You Need to Treat?
Based on ~7.62 acres treated per 2.5 Gallon Jug (IBC Tote Available).
What It Does
FUSAMEL supplies multiple forms of nitrogen alongside orthophosphate phosphorus in a single reacted, low-pH, low-salt formulation. It is engineered to move into the plant efficiently whether applied as a foliar spray or placed in-furrow at planting, giving growers a flexible specialty fertilizer platform that fits many crops and application timings.
Why It Works
Conventional blended fertilizers often combine ingredients without truly reacting them together, leaving nutrients in less plant-available forms and creating higher salt indexes that can risk seedling or foliar injury. FUSAMEL uses a reacted manufacturing process that combines multiple nitrogen forms with orthophosphate phosphorus into a stable, low-salt, low-pH solution. This chemistry is designed to stay in solution, resist tie-up, and move into the plant more efficiently than standard blends -- while reducing the risk of foliar burn or in-furrow seedling stress.
When to Apply
FUSAMEL can be applied in-furrow at planting to support early root development, or as a foliar application during vegetative growth to supply readily available nitrogen and phosphorus during periods of high demand. It is commonly used at V2-V6 in corn, early vegetative stages in soybeans, and can be tank-mixed with many common crop protection products (jar test recommended).
Application Rate
42 oz/acre
Best Uses
- Multiple forms of nitrogen for extended availability
- 100% ortho-phosphate for immediate plant uptake
- Low salt index reduces burn risk in-furrow or foliar
- Low-pH formulation resists tie-up in the tank and soil
- Reacted (not simply blended) for consistent nutrient delivery
Tank Mixing & Compatibility
FUSAMEL is compatible with most common liquid starter fertilizers and many crop protection products. Always perform a jar test before large-scale tank mixing, especially with high-calcium or high-sulfate products. Avoid mixing with strongly alkaline products that may raise tank pH significantly.
Guaranteed Analysis
Total Nitrogen (N): 8-10% (Urea, Ammoniacal, and Amino forms)\nAvailable Phosphate (P2O5): 6-8% (100% Orthophosphate)\npH: 3.5-4.5 (low-pH formulation)\nSalt Index: Low relative to conventional NPK blends
Technical Information
FUSAMEL is manufactured using a proprietary reaction process (not a simple blend) that combines nitrogen and phosphorus sources into stable, plant-available complexes. This process is what allows FUSAMEL to maintain a low pH and low salt index while still delivering meaningful nutrient concentrations. Full technical and regulatory documentation is available in the Resources center.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can FUSAMEL be applied both in-furrow and foliar?
Yes. The FUSAMEL platform is available in dedicated In Furrow, Foliar, All Purpose, and Finish formulations, each with its own application rate and pricing -- see the Application Rate section above, or contact ASB Grower Support for the right formulation for your crop and equipment.
Will FUSAMEL burn my crop in-furrow?
FUSAMEL is specifically formulated with a low salt index to minimize burn risk compared to conventional blended starter fertilizers. As with any in-furrow product, following labeled rates and performing a jar test with your specific starter program is recommended.
What crops is FUSAMEL labeled for?
FUSAMEL is broadly labeled across row crops, forages, and specialty crops. See the Labels & Downloads section for the full product label and crop list.
What is the difference between the 4 FUSAMEL formulations?
FUSAMEL In Furrow (42 oz/acre) is built for at-plant placement; FUSAMEL Foliar (46 oz/acre) is built for foliar application during vegetative growth; FUSAMEL All Purpose (42 oz/acre) is flexible across either method; and FUSAMEL Finish (42 oz/acre) is positioned for late-season use. Pricing and application rates vary by formulation -- see the Grower Price Sheet or contact ASB Grower Support for formulation-specific guidance.
